Your Biggest Fans
Fitness has always been a big part of our lives. Not simply because of the physical results, but because of how it makes us feel: stronger, healthier, more energized, and more confident in every area of life.
For Ryann, movement has always been second nature. From playing sports in high school to early morning boot camps with her mom and cycle classes in college, she was always looking for ways to stay active. In 2014, while preparing for our wedding, she discovered CrossFit and immediately fell in love with it. Since then, every move we’ve made has come with one priority: finding a CrossFit gym. Because CrossFit has always been about more than fitness. It’s about community, belonging, and finding people who push you to become your best self.
For Chad, the greatest joy has always been helping people achieve things they never thought possible. Whether that’s a first pull-up, first muscle-up, or even willingly signing up for a workout packed with burpees, there’s nothing more rewarding than watching someone discover their own strength. As a CrossFit coach and gym owner, his passion is helping people move better, get stronger, and realize they are capable of far more than they ever imagined.
Together, we share a deep love for helping others find joy in fitness. We know firsthand that fitness doesn’t always come naturally and that growth often comes from embracing challenges. That’s why we love what we do. We love seeing people become stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally, while building the confidence that carries into every part of their lives.
Our biggest motivation is our family. We are blessed with four incredible kids, Paxton, Annabelle, Triniti, and Xander, along with our puppy, Bernie. They inspire us daily to be the best parents, coaches, leaders, and people we can be. They remind us why hard work matters, why consistency matters, and why showing up each day with purpose is so important.
When we opened our gym, our goal was never just to create another place to work out. We wanted to build a place where people could come exactly as they are. A place where they could chase big goals, overcome obstacles, celebrate victories, find lifelong friendships, and receive support through life’s toughest seasons. We wanted to create a community where everyone belongs.
Around here, we’re more than a gym. We’re family. We cheer the loudest for each other’s wins, support each other through challenges, and believe that fitness is simply the vehicle for something much bigger. We’re in the business of building stronger people, stronger families, and stronger lives.
Whether you’re an experienced athlete or someone who thinks a “clean and jerk” sounds like an insult, you’ll find a home here. Our mission is simple: help people become stronger, healthier, more confident, and discover that they can do far more than they ever thought possible.
The Engineer
My CrossFit journey began in college when I got dared by a friend to try it out. After winning the warm up and losing the workout, I was hooked and have done it in some form ever since.
I have always been involved in coaching, from the volunteer level to high school. I love watching people reach new heights and accomplish feats they didn’t think they could. CFA has a family culture that creates an environment for everyone to succeed and I love being apart of it.
Our Olympian
I’ve been coaching in some capacity for over 10 years and it’s so rewarding! I love being a small part of someone’s journey and seeing them accomplish their goals or things they didn’t even know they could do. My goal is to make people hate snatching a little less each time :) My favorite things are a barbell, a banger playlist, and a Dutch bros rebel.
Loves Everyone
My love for fitness started with gymnastics and grew through my years as a collegiate track & field athlete. I’m passionate about strength, movement, and helping people discover what their bodies are capable of.
As a coach, my favorite thing is watching someone accomplish something they once thought was impossible. I love people, and I love being part of the community that makes CrossFit Atonement so special.
The Law
Tony started CrossFit in 2010 as a way to stay in shape for his career as a police officer. He soon got his wife addicted, and now they love working out together! 💪
Tony loves coaching, his boss & best friend Chad Vanoven, and most of all, being part of the CrossFit Atonement family. ❤️
Games Athlete
Ryan was born and raised in the Bay Area but has called Texas home since 2002. In that time, “y’all” has become a permanent part of his vocabulary.
He started CrossFit in 2017 with goals of weight loss and getting in better shape. It didn’t take long for him to get hooked. Today, he loves helping others achieve their goals and supporting them throughout their own CrossFit journeys.
When he’s not coaching classes or working out, Ryan works in sports broadcasting and can usually be found behind a camera on the sidelines or courtside. He’s a die-hard sports fan, if you want to talk sports, he’s your guy.
Ryan loves spending time with family and friends, especially his two daughters, his Shih Tzu Steve, and his smokin’ hot wife.
